  • What do I do with my tincture?
Your tincture requires six weeks to allow the placenta portion and cord blood to infuse into the alcohol. After six weeks from the day of processing (also indicated on original packaging) you should remove the placenta portion with a pair of clean tweezers and discard it. Maternal use: Place 5-7 drops under your tongue, holding there for a minute to allow absorption, as needed. You may also dilute in a glass of water and drink all at once. Use the same practice for your biological mother for menopausal symptoms. For biological infant discomfort and teething pain use no more than 3 drops in the mouth per day until you notice pain reduce. DO NOT USE IN CONJUCTION WITH ACETAMINOPHEN PRODUCTS SUCH AS TYLENOL TO PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE LIVER DUE TO ALCOHOL CONTENT. For biological daughters menstrual/puberty hormonal shifts use 4-5 drops up to two times per day under the tongue or in a glass of water.
  • How do I store my capsules?
Your capsules should be stored in a cool, dry place. DO NOT REFRIGERATE THE JAR. This will cause condensation and ruin your capsules. Use the cap at all times and take only the amount you intend to take out at a time. If you still have capsules after six weeks, transfer the remaining capsules to a zip top freezer bag and place in the freezer. Take out only what you intend to use on an as-needed basis and never leave your freezer bag setting on the counter to reduce condensation/moisture contamination. Discard remaining capsules after one year. Though not typically unsafe to take, the efficacy of them will have been diminished by this time.
  • How long can I keep my tincture?
Tinctures never expire and can last you a lifetime, especially if you are conservative with use and store them in a dark and dry place (such as a medicine cabinet). If you wish, once you are down to HALF the bottle (maximum), you may add additional vodka (80 proof) to refill what you have used. The vodka will infuse with the components already present.
  • I bought a print and the color seems to have faded, is it safe to display?
Yes. Your placenta print was made using cord blood from your placenta. The blood will naturally brown overtime due to oxidation that naturally occurs with blood but it is perfectly safe to display and should not run or flake over time. To get the best life out of your print you should use a frame with glass that has a UV filter to prevent fading overtime from the sun. Your print is 11x14 standard size. If you choose to store it for your child down the road, be sure to store it in a dry place away from possible water leaks or moisture. If it does get wet, lay it flat allowing it to dry completely before repackaging although some damage is expected at this point.
  • The capsules didn't work out for me. Can I request a refund?
Encapsulation is non-refundable. I provide a quality service to my clients. Unfortunately, consuming your placenta and its benefits varies widely from person to person. I do however provide full refunds for those who's placentas did not pass my safety examination and could not be consumed. I offer placenta prints in combination with a refund less that cost of the print or full refund via the original payment method.
  • When should I reach out to book encapsulation?
You can reach out anytime to complete paperwork which can be easily completed on your phone or desktop. Although, since no deposit is taken and birth is unpredictable, families should alert me when they believe they will have their baby soon or are currently in labor because placentas are processed on a first come-first served basis. For example many hospital birthing families like to have their paperwork complete and be ready to drop their placenta off when they head home from the hospital. Either way, once you text that you have had your baby the soonest available drop-off windows will be presented to you via text.
  • How do I book? What can I expect?

Each order is packaged with care to include your capsules, any extras you added to your order, dosage and care instructions. It also includes a free, umbilical cord keepsake especially for you. • I'm concerned I might get sick from my capsules. Can that happen?
Though it is rare, it is possible and it is important that you assume your own risk with consuming your placenta. However, rest assured that this is rare in the practice of consuming ones placenta and typically happens when the placenta is not properly processed, health practices are not followed properly or certain conditions surrounding the mother and her birth are not disclosed honestly. It is crucial that you answer all intake questions honestly to rule out possible contraindications of consuming a placenta. I ensure that safe handling procedures are followed in accordance to food preparation standards and blood-borne pathogen preventative measures. Aubrey has certifications in food handlers safety and blood-borne pathogens training approved by the state of Wisconsin for Placenta Encapsulation Specialists and holds a current certification through Brilliant Birth Academy. Gloves, and other PPE are used along with medical grade disinfectants throughout the entire process to ensure that your placenta can be consumed as safely as possible.
  • I saved my placenta in the freezer. Can I still encapsulate?
Likely, Yes! Be sure of these factors: -Your placenta was placed on ice, refrigerated or placed directly into a freezer within 3 hours of birth. -Your placenta was moved FROM refrigeration into a freezer within three days of birth. -Your placenta has been in the freezer for no more than six months in traditional freezer OR in DEEP FREEZE (equal or less than zero degrees Fahrenheit for no more than 12 months) BIRTHDAY CONTRAINDICATIONS: -Your placenta DID NOT go to pathology following birth -You or you baby DID NOT sustain a fever of 100.4 or above within the hour prior to or one hour following birth
  • What are contraindications to encapsulation?
There are a few reasons that you would not be a candidate for encapsulation: The mother or baby had a fever of 100.4 or higher during labor or at time of birth. This could indicate an infection of the placenta and therefore should not be consumed. Be sure to note this in the delivery room! If you had severe placenta previa and the placenta is either torn, in pieces or holds no form. If your placenta was taken to the lab/pathology for testing at the hospital. Once it leaves, chances for contamination are high and should not be processed. If however you wish to request that the Doctor takes a sample of the placenta in your presence leaving you with the main portion, you are still safe to encapsulate.
  • There was meconium present at the time of birth, can I still encapsulate?
Yes. Meconium (babies first bowel movement) is not a contraindication for encapsulation. However, I will use a vinegar bath submersion to cleanse the surface of the placenta. The steaming point of the Traditional Chinese method that I typically use will aid to kill additional bacteria not killed by the vinegar bath.
  • I have experienced fever, nausea, stomach ache or diarrhea since taking my capsules.
If you experience any symptoms similar to food illness after taking your capsules, you should discontinue use immediately and discard any unused capsules.

  • Can I make a deposit to secure my due date?
Sorry, due to the unpredictable nature of birth, I no longer accept pre-bookings for placenta encapsulation and process placentas on a first come-first served basis. Ideally you would reach out to book if you know you're scheduled date for induction, tummy-birth, are currently in labor or have already had your baby. You may take care of your paperwork by reaching out early but it does not reserve your services yet and only saves you time after the birth. If you choose to wait to schedule processing, freeze your placenta within 3 days of birth and reach out once you are ready for encapsulation services.
  • I don't want to bring my placenta to you, can I pay extra for pickup and delivery?
At this time, I am only accepting placentas brought to my location for processing. This is to decrease costs for you and allow flexibility to my doula practice. I do however transport and deliver placentas to birth clients at this time. If you prefer to have the finished package mailed to you via USPS that can be arranged and may incur an additional cost of shipping. Placenta Prints MAY NOT be shipped to prevent any potential damage.
  • What if my placenta can't be processed after examination?
I will provide a full refund of the amount paid. I can also offer placenta prints ($35 each) and provide a refund less the cost for prints.
